We are a friendly group sharing an enthusiasm for the world of Geology, a technical subject but a broad ranging one with something for every interest – rocks, minerals, chemistry, evolution, mountain building, fossils, landscapes, spectrometry, engineering, climate change, space, building stones, resources, industry, people.. Members may be the casually interested, or knowledgeable amateurs, or experienced experts in their field. Sometimes we'll even visit a pub.

We have morning talks in winter at the venue above, all day field trips in summer (using own transport or car sharing). As we are a self-help group, some people enjoy giving talks or arranging excursions and everyone is encouraged to contribute if they want to. The programme might vary from field trips and walks, to visiting quarries, to identifying building stones in a town or church, to visiting a museum. We are lucky to have many interesting geological sites within reach, both inland and on the spectacular Dorset, Somerset and Devon coasts.

For reasons of confidentiality the contact details of our group leaders are not listed here. Please register your interest with the Group Co-ordinator via the Contact Page. The Group Coordinator will be in touch with you.
