Bobbin Lacemaking. A traditional industry, practised in many areas – including Sherborne. It largely died out, but was revived as a leisure activity about 50 years ago.
The basic stitches are similar to plaiting, which are then combined to make more complex patterns using a pattern (pricking) as a guide.
