The photography group is small, friendly, and supportive.

The aim of the group is to practice taking better pictures. What we don't do is teach people how to use their cameras. Most people now use digital cameras rather than film cameras. We set a theme to photograph before the next session, and then each of us comes to that session with a handful of prints (usually 3 or 4 as large as possible - A4 is ideal) taken to that theme. We each show our efforts to the others in turn, and any technical problems (or sometimes artistic points) arising are discussed by us all. We encourage members to be selective and self critical so that quality of pictures is more important than quantity.

The climax of the year is the Summer Event when, alongside the art and painting groups, the photography group displays some of the year's work.

Presented below is a selection of the Groups work.

For reasons of confidentiality the contact details of our group leaders are not listed here. Please register your interest with the Group Co-ordinator via the Contact Page. The Group Coordinator will be in touch with you.
